Zena's first show weekend (Atlanta 8/25/2016 - 8/28/2016)

of course, some of this... she IS her mother's daughter
(Holly's started out as "Holly GoHoppy")

Occasionally, she found the way...

3rd of 3 every day, but we learned a lot
and overall she made a nice impression

Update: 5 Months Old

Zina, Scout and Sunny had their rabies vaccinations on Wednesday, July 20th.  Scout has now gone to her forever home in upstate NY and all of us miss her!

Officially, Sunny ("yellow girl")  is available for an approved home, and Zina is staying.   Now we have the "Dos Amigas" instead of the "Three Musketeers" (or sometimes the "Three Stooges")
:)

16 week update...

Puppies had their final puppy booster yesterday.

They have been going to puppy matches:  Scout won the NonSporting Puppy Group at Griffin Georgia Kennel Club May 28th and Zina won the same at the Douglasville Kennel Club match on June 4th.  Having fun, socializing, and learning the ropes.  Staying still for a long time (like over 10 seconds) is Very Difficult :)

The boy puppies report wonderful achievements and success at each new home...Life is Sweet!!!

Tuesday, May 10th 2016
Puppies went for their 2nd DHPP vaccination and deworming (precautionary).
They have also started monthly heartworm pills (Heartgard)
and Nexgard (flea and tick preventive).
(We will use Bravecto once the puppies turn 6 months old).

The puppies' weights were:
 Scout (green girl):  12.8
 Zina (pink girl):  13.9
 Sunny (yellow girl): 14.5

(All the boy puppies have gone to their forever homes and all reports are happy! )

Update 4/4/2016

"Short Subjects" from  just before leaving the whelping box:

(this is just for future reference).  The puppies have now spent two nights sleeping in crates, instead of the whelping box.  At this point the sleep 2, 2, and 3 to a crate;  we will gradually move them to individual crates.  The first night they went to bed around 10pm and woke at 6am - a couple of mishaps in the crates.  The second night we got up each time someone cried, which was 12:30 pm and 6:00 am.  That worked better.  Seemed to be no mishaps in crates.  (The goal is a full night with a clean crate, even if it means an earlier wake-up time).

Individual pictures and video to follow shortly, for 7-week evaluation. :)

Portraits at 4 1/2 weeks: Mar 18th 2016

Orange Boy

Yellow Girl
(possibly blue)

Pink Girl ("Amazon Princess")
(possibly silver)

Purple Boy

Light Blue Boy (? maybe silver ? )

Green Girl ("Scout")...  little but spunky
still not sure if she's blue or silver

Dark Blue Boy ("OMG" - so pretty and sweet)

(Still not sure if the darker ones are blue or silver... guessing that Pink girl and Blue boy are silver, less sure about Green girl and Yellow girl... Maybe the next clipping will be more revealing.)

4 1/2 weeks old...

The puppies are now well into what is MY favorite stage ... showing lots of personality and creativity (Help! Help! - seriously though, if only all of our problems could be this sweet ).

They are eating (very well)  4 meals a day now:  two meals of hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and goat's milk (enriched with vitamin C, colostrum and egg yolk); and two meals of ground meat (chicken, turkey or beef) and yogurt.

We have also added pp pads to the whelping box (they still sleep there) and added a litter box to the puppy play area which is in our grooming area downstairs.  The puppies' clean instinct is guiding them to use the litter box, which makes our job (and the "forever home" transition) easier.  The litter box is filled with rabbit pellets, theoretically the smell of grass makes it more familiar when they are taught to potty outside.

The play area also includes (if the 'boat door' is open) access to a small area outside and a puppy 'gymnasium':

7 puppies - doing well!

Seven puppies were born Valentine's Day:  Feb 14, 2016:
  3 silver* girls
  1 silver* boy
  3 cream/white boys
(*  note:  we believe the silvers are silver, and will be certain in a few weeks.  There is the possibility they're blue).  Today they will have tails docked and dewclaws removed.

Holly is doing great and is a fabulous mother!  She is so proud of her babies and we are so proud of her - and of course, of Monte's contribution!
